I Resented My Music Career
For a long time, I resented my decision to pursue a music career.
I had to work so many hours to get through my to do lists and commitments that I lost the joy music used to bring me.
My office job filled up my days. Performing, practicing, admin, and planning spilled into weekends. I couldn’t find the right balance for me.
So instead of trying to juggle so many jobs and side hustles to the point of burnout, I built my own business. I stopped chasing balance and built freedom instead.
I'm still working hard - but I have the freedom to set my own rates and schedule. I get paid what I'm worth and work when I want.
And with The Musician's Assistant, my goal is to help other musicians do the same. Delegating to a VA who already knows the music world can help you find more freedom, more ease, and more joy in your music career.
Freedom to decide when you work.
Freedom to choose how much access your business has to you.
Freedom to integrate your work and your life in a way that actually makes sense — even if you’re still working a lot.
For many musicians, the things taking up the most time aren’t creative or income-producing — they’re operational:
Emails
Scheduling
Follow-ups
File organization
Systems maintenance
Client communication
None of these require your artistic brain. But they do quietly drain it.
Delegating isn’t about stepping back or losing control. It’s about protecting your energy so it’s actually available for the work only you can do.
When you hand off the backend of your business, something shifts:
You make decisions faster.
You’re less reactive.
Your work feels more intentional instead of overwhelming.
This is where hiring a virtual assistant becomes a tool for freedom — not just “help.”
A VA who understands musicians and music businesses can take ownership of the day-to-day operations that keep you stuck in survival mode, so you can build something sustainable.
Not balanced, but integrated, intentional, and free.
If you’re a music business owner who’s tired of doing everything yourself and wants support that actually understands your world, this is exactly what I do inside The Musician’s Assistant.
You don’t need more discipline.
You need more space. If you're seeking more freedom in 2026, fill out my inquiry form for VA services. Let's build it together.
